
As the nation is gearing up for FIFA under-17 World Cup that is going to be held in October and prior to the world cup, states are getting ready to hold Oorja 2017 Central Armed Police Forces (CAPF) Under-19 football tournament on the instructions of Union ministry of home affairs.
The city will be hosting the tournament that will be organised by HPFA & SSB Sapri.
Prior to FIFA, a talent hunt is being organised to create fervour for football among the youth. In the talent hunt players will be selected to represent the state and country in next level..
Earlier, the name of the tournament was Prime Minister’s football tournament- Under 19 but later on it was changed to Oorja 2017.
HPFA & SSB officials said, “FIFA is the dream project of Prime Minister and he wants it to act as a catalyst of change for football in the country, which can only be only done by creating a mass moment around it.”
