New Delhi: All India Football Federation has always shown its keen interest towards reaching out to more kids which will, eventually, lead to nurturing more talents to strengthen the Indian Football Ecosystem.
Grassroots Football which AIFF started in 2013 has since grown from strength to strength. On the eve of May 15, which is commemorated as the AFC Grassroots Day, the progress report shows that AIFF has organised 78 Grassroots Leaders Course until the AFC Grassroots Day in 2017 itself and not less than 2129 grassroots coaches and leaders have graduated in last four years.
The Grassroots programs staged across the nation truly highlights AIFF’s vision of reaching to every nook and cranny of the Country. Eleven states namely J&K, Punjab, Chandigarh, West Bengal, Assam, Manipur, Mizoram, Meghalaya, Odisha, Maharashtra and Kerala have come on board to organise long terms Grassroots program over the years.
Among the numerous Grassroots Centres, Manipur boasts of 90 – the most number of Grassroots centres established in a single state. Kerala comes a close second with 75 followed by Punjab on 58.
Incidentally, J&K State Association has also put up 37 centres till date. The complete list of Grassroots Centres across the Country is mentioned below:
