The HPFA conducted selection trials for B.C. Roy Trophy on 20th November 2017 at Govt Sr Sec School ground Solah Dist Una at 11:00 am. Himachal Pradesh Football Association General Secretary  Deepak Sharma expressed gratitude to the Heads and Secretaries of all District Football Associations for sending better and competent players from their respective districts. On this occasion, Sh. Roop Lal Sharma, Principal, Government Senior Secondary School, Saloh, was present as the chief guest. He said that in order to create sports spirit in children, there must be games from time to time. He said that sports is not just for physical development, but mental development is also possible through it. He said that football has special significance in addition to studying in today’s era. The state government has also arranged separate reservation for the players in government jobs.

On this occasion, various sports lovers of State Football Association, treasurer Naresh Rana, Football Coach SD Sharma, District Football Association President Jatindra Saini, DPE Jagdish, Narendra Thakur Jindi and Harcharan Singh Bobby were present.

The Himachal junior football team has been selected by a committee of experienced people for the selection. It included former Santosh Trophy players Suresh Mann, Amit Dutta, NIS coach Vinit, Digvijay Chauhan, Bhupindra Thakur and Sanjeev. Football players from across the state were selected under the supervision of selection committee.
