District Una’s daughters will play for the first time in the history of football on behalf of a professional club. For the first time, girls learning football at the Girls Football Academy, Khad, in the district’s Haroli subdivision, will showcase their talent on behalf of a professional football club in the Indian Women’s League (IWL). He said that in the recent club championship at the Football Stadium in Khad, seven girls playing for the Girls Youth Football Academy Khad were selected for the professional football club Techtro Swades United FC the first Professional club of Himachal Pradesh. The selected girls are Riya Sharma, Prerna Dutta, Priyanka Dutta, Meenu Dutta, Harshita, Praveen and Suriya.
The selected girls have moved to Chandigarh to attend the training camp of the Football club. After this, they will all play and represent Techtro Swades United FC in the Indian Women’s League to be held at Nehru Stadium in New Delhi from 5th April, 2021 to 15 April, 2021. The father of all these girls, who became part of a professional football club, is a farmer.
Himachal Pradesh Football Association General Secretary Deepak Sharma said that over a hundred girls are learning the nuances of football in the Girls Youth Football Academy Khad. When this football academy was started, no one thought that one day girls from this village would be able to join a professional football club. Today, over a hundred girls are receiving football training in this academy. He has wished all the girls selected in the club on professionalism.
