Third day of Himachal Women’s League started on a thrilling note when Techtro Swades Unuted FC grilled out a hard fought 1-0 victory over Youth Girls Football Club Khad. This win takes TSUFC’s tally to 9 points in 3 matches and establish them as a title contendor.
The match started on a positive note with both the teams looking for the opening goal. YGFC Khad seemed more aggresive between the two teams as they launched flurry of attacks in the defensive half of Techtro. Techtro , initially rattled by the brisk start, slowly and steadily growed in confidence. Led by Neha Mann from the middle of the pitch , Techtro started playing their natural gamestyle after the first 5 minutes and soon found their rythm as they pushed YGFC Khad back into their own half.
And soon enough Techtro were awarded a penalty when YGFC Khad midfielder , Riya handled a ball inside the D-Box in the 10th minute and got a straight red card for the offense. With 1 girl down, YGFC Khad were already in danger of conceding another from the spot, but to their ecstacy and to the utter dismay of TSUFC, Lovepreet Kaur’s spotkick hit the side bar and rebounded back for the local team to clear it. Buoyed by the blunder from the Techtro defender, YGFC Khad produced an inspiring display and dominated the whole half being one player down but failed to find the all-crucial goal.
Techtro started the second half on a much positive note and few tactical changes saw them holding the reigns of the tie for the next 30 minutes. The top scorer Anjali and Sangam from TSUFC saw their shots brilliantly saved by Parveen Kumari, the YGFC Khad custodian who stood like a wall and led the backline of YGFC Khad for most of the match. However towards the end of the match Anjali broke the deadlock from a corner , which fell into the far post and a communucation breakdown between the YGFC Khad goalkeeper and Defenders resulted in Anjali finding the ball with a lot of space at her hand. She calmly placed the ball into the net as tge TSUFC dugout broke into wild celebration. YGFC Khad tried their utmost best to score in the dying minutes but failed to do so as the referee blew the final whistle.
With this victory TSUFC establish their top position with a 3 points difference between them and YGFC Khad , who leads Northern Football Academy by goal difference.
